FTTx - What is it?

FTTx is a type of broadband network architecture that uses optical fiber to provide high-speed internet access to customers.

FTTx stands for Fiber to the X, where X represents a location in the telecommunications network. It is a generic term for any broadband network architecture using optical fiber to provide all or part of the local loop used for last mile telecommunications.

Why Fiber?

Why fiber over copper CAT network cabling?

  • Speed: FTTx networks can provide much faster speeds than traditional copper networks, making them ideal for high-bandwidth applications such as streaming video, online gaming, and working from home.

  • Reliability: FTTx networks are also more reliable than copper networks, as they are less susceptible to interference and outages.

  • Scalability: FTTx networks are highly scalable, meaning that they can be easily upgraded to meet the growing needs of users.
